Montanari explores a world where names and dates appear as justifications, to contain a large portion of time in a small space. Open spaces and angles that maintain the secret of the shades, arcades and small recesses; faded signs and others still visible; relationships with reality that in the pictorial transcription become factors in personal events; writing that colour makes new, reflections of a space that the reinvention makes cerebral, and therefore able to make the pre-existing aspect renewed by reality. Like an amazed traveller and a sensitive observer, the painter demonstrates his special calling for understanding a universe that he makes perfect in his artistic vision; so the paintings, amongst the records of daily events and incisive witnesses of the present, become combinations of climates and moods.
